Sandy passed peacefully on December 29, 2022 in Cambridge, ON. She was born on September 4, 1943 in Windsor, grew up in Owen Sound, and spent many years in Stoney Creek, Wingham, and Cambridge. Sandy made friends easily wherever she went. She was a friend and ’pal’ to many…she absolutely cherished her friendships and her friends cherished her.
Sandy had her whole family by her side in her final moments – son Cam Crosbie (Katy Wild), and daughter Jenn Skelding (Bernie). Sandy adored her grandchildren – Hannah Skelding, Calum Crosbie, Reid Skelding (fiancé Emma), Leif Skelding, and Ailie Crosbie. Sandy also had a special love for her grand-dogs Teebo and Angus…they will miss the many treats she spoiled them with!
Sandy will be missed by her brothers and their families – Bill and Barb Campbell, sister-in-law Nancy Campbell, and Jack and Cathy Campbell. She was much loved by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Sandy is predeceased by her parents Dr. Clifford and Norah Campbell, and brother Ian Campbell.
She devoted her career caring for others as a Registered Nurse in the Hamilton area. As an active member of the churches and communities in which she lived, she found ways to bring joy to many with her wonderful smile and laugh as an expression of her faith. She was an incredibly interesting woman who was also interested in the lives of those she connected with.
The family would like to thank her caregivers at St. Andrews Terrace and Cambridge Memorial Hospital. A special thank you to the staff at Heritage Meadows.
A celebration of life will be planned for Sandy when the weather is nicer in 2023.
Should you choose, donations in Sandy’s name can be made to the Parkinson Society of South Western Ontario at https://psso.ca/how-to-help/donate/ The family thanks you for all of your support.
