Ruth was called to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. She passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the Stratford Rotary Hospice surrounded by the love of her family.
Loving mother of Angie Lehman, Tim and wife Cathy Rector, Jody and wife Rachael Rector, step mother of Gord Rector. Ruth will be missed by her grandchildren Justin, Joshua, TJ (Melissa), Hailey (Nathan), Hannah, Grace, Jamie, Josh, Jake, Jordan, Tiffany and Tara. She will live on in the hearts of her many great-grandchildren. Ruth will be missed by her brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Dave (Eileen) Morrison, Jim (Shirley) Morrison, Marilyn (Len) Gardecki, Dorothy (Ray) Johnston, and Jan (Art) Wombwell. Ruth will be fondly remembered by daughter-in-law Jennifer Rector, as well as by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ruth is predeceased and now reunited with her beloved husband Joseph Louis Rector who went to be with his Lord and Saviour on November 17, 2014, her parents George and Marjorie (Simmons) Morrison, brother Wayne Morrison, stepson Mike Rector and grand daughter Tammy.
Ruth loved listening to the Bible being read to her on her phone. She enjoyed watching the Little House on the Prairie, The Walton’s, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and Blue Bloods. Ruth had a passion for gardening and absolutely loved the beauty of seeing the Mountains. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She cherished her family dearly and will be missed by them all. Ruth was a faithful member of Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, in New Dundee. In Ruth’s career she was many things, a Probation Officer, Prison Social Worker, owner of a residential custom blind business, owner of a convenience store and a devoted homemaker.
Ruth’s faith which was given to her was in Christ’s work on the cross to save her from her sin, and she was granted eternal life with God.
Relatives and friends are invited to Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, 1531 Bridge St, New Dundee, on Friday, December 16, 2022, from 10 am – 11:30 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 am with Pastor Graham Burkhart to officiate. Interment to follow in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth or the Canadian Cancer Centre and can be done through the funeral home.
