Richard Douglas Carter of Listowel passed away unexpectedly at Stratford General Hospital on Friday, July 7, 2023, in his 83rd year.
Loving husband of Shirley (Hinz) Carter of Listowel. Proud father of Wanda & Larry Thompson, and Susanne & Jason Voll, all of Listowel. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Ava, Dawn, and Abby. Brother of Leon (late Gladys) Carter of Listowel, and Ted (late Rose) Carter of Alberta, and brother-in-law of Frank Hinz of Kitchener, and Olive Carr of Orangeville. Loved and remembered also by his cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Leonard & Violet (Jacques) Carter, brother Dennis Carter, and by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Margaret & Roy McIntosh, Della & Jim Johnston, Grace Bard, and Charlie Carr.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 10:00 until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiated. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel. Reception followed at the funeral home reception hall.
