Pauline Leslie (Watson) Yang of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, September 22, 2023, in her 92nd year.
Wife of the late Dr. George Yang. Mother of Jennifer Yang of Listowel, Jonathan Young & Pamela Redford of Toronto, and Rosalind Yang of Sydney, Australia, and grandmother of Maxwell and Griffin. Predeceased by her parents Dr. Albert Leslie and Mabel (Cuffe) Watson, and by her brother Dr. Ian Watson.
Born in Sydney, Australia, Pauline trained as a nurse and worked in different hospitals, primarily at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children’s operating theatre in Camperdown, Sydney.
In 1966, Pauline moved to Listowel to marry Dr. George Yang, who she met at the Southampton Chest Hospital in England. Together, they raised three children. Pauline had a strong Christian faith and was a regular worshipper and dedicated volunteer at Christ Anglican Church in Listowel. Through church, Pauline made many wonderful friends in Listowel and often said, “There are some great people around.”
Thanks to Dr. Annis and the nurses in CCC and the 1st floor at the Listowel Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion they provided to Pauline. She had the utmost respect for their expertise.
The Celebration of Pauline’s life will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel, on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior and reception to follow. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
Memorial donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel, Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation, or the Lung Association would be appreciated and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
