Norma Mortimer passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
A proud Cargillian and even prouder Cassidy, Norma loved playing piano, singing, dancing with her adoring late husband of 60 years, Mort, and spending quality time with family and friends. Music and laughter filled her life and the lives of those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
A caring, loving, thoughtful person with a heart of gold, she will be dearly missed by her children, Debi of Walkerton, Randy (Cindy) of Chatham, Cindy of Walkerton, Rob (Brigitte) of Casselman and Michele (Gary Knoop) of Mildmay. She was the proud Nanny of Brianna (Evan), Scott (Caylie), Véronique (Max), Léa, Katrina (Alex), Brittany, and the Great Nanny of Grayson, Julian, Willow, Alexander, Nolan, Atlas, Talon, Maverick and Leland. Norma leaves behind her sisters, Betty Kennedy, Charlene Eckensweiler, Diane Lerch and sister-in-law Gwen Cassidy. She will also be fondly remembered by the Mortimer families.
Norma was predeceased by her husband Earl “Mort” Mortimer, parents Jerome and Lillian (nee Braun) Cassidy, siblings Gerald, Fran, Pat, Gord, Bob, Maureen and in-laws Helen, Tom, and Bea.
