Nicholas William O’Hagan

Nicholas William O’Hagan of Walkerton passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 2, 2022, at the age of 74.

Beloved husband of Marlene (nee Fischer). Loving father to Lesley (Claude) Anderson of Walkerton, Nicole (Stu) Vander Geest of Uxbridge, Heather (Dave) Rambukkana of Newcastle and Trevor (Kathryn) of Martensville, SK.

He will be cherished in the hearts of his grandchildren Myla, Dash, and Hazel Anderson; Rhys, Burk, and Bree Vander Geest; Finn and Rory Rambukkana; and Piper and Olivia O’Hagan. Dear brother of Brian of Walkerton, Margaret Mary (Jim) Mittelholtz of Kincardine, and Kathy Bester of Owen Sound as well as sister-in-law Brenda of Cargill. Nick will be specially remembered by Marlene’s family, parents Ron and Helen Fischer of Cargill and siblings Paul (Connie) Fischer of Teeswater, Debbie (Murray) Hodgins of Bervie, Norma (Doug) Zettler of Walkerton, Carol (Brian) Ernewein of Ottawa, and Cheryl (John) Grant of Hanover. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Although the depth of our sadness is profound, we are comforted by the fact that Nick can now be at rest. He overcame a devastating stroke in 2016 and more recently fought a hard battle with cancer. Nick can now be reunited with his parents, Bill and Kathleen, brothers Jerome and Kevin, sister-in-law Sandra O’Hagan and brothers-in-law Denis Bester, Rick Fischer, and Tim Fischer.

Friends and relatives were invited for visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Cameron’s in Walkerton. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Nick’s life was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Sacred Heart Parish, Walkerton. Fr. Leszek Szczygiel officiating.
