Nicholas Francisco “Nick” Schiestel, of R. R. #2 Wingham, passed away suddenly at Wingham and District Hospital on Monday, December 13th, 2021, at age 83.
Beloved husband of Alice Schiestel (née Kestner).
Loving father of Sherry and Jamie Kennedy of R. R. #3 Walkerton, Laurie and Kevin Miller of Fordwich, Wendy and Chris Zinn of Wroxeter, and Rob Anderson and Cheryl Webster of Bluevale.
Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Nicole Funk, Jenna and Brady Lantz, Cole Miller, Logan Miller, Ryan Zinn, Justin Zinn and Alivia Anderson.
Dear brother of Anne Schwehr, Fred and Darlene Schiestel, Charlie Schiestel, Gertie Eckenswiller, George and Marilyn Schiestel, Ike Schiestel, Pete and Jayne Schiestel and Cindy and Doug Wyatt.
Fondly remembered by his in-laws, Eileen Beninger, Evelyn Kestner, Marilyn and George Schiestel, Gerald and Maryanne Kestner, Kenny and Carol Kestner and Diane and Andy Fortney.
Also survived by Allen Funk and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours.
Predeceased by his daughter Lisa Anderson, parents Fred Sr. and Gertrude (née Schaefer) Schiestel, brother Tom Schiestel and in-laws, Mary Schiestel, Lorne Schwehr, Pauline Schiestel, David Kestner, Ronald Kestner and Gregory Beninger.
Visitation took place at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Friday, December 17th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Teeswater on Saturday, December 18th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., with Father Paul Edmondstone officiating.
Spring interment Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Wingham and District Hospital Foundation, Teeswater Culross Firefighter’s Association or the North Huron Firefighter’s Association appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
