Marie Elizebeth Waechter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marie Elizebeth Waechter (nee Graf) on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in her 97th year at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton. We are comforted knowing that Mom was welcomed into the arms of Jesus and her beloved husband Jack Waechter who predeceased her in 2003.

Adored and cherished mother of Helen, Rita (Rick) McKay, Noreen (Doug) Lang, all of Waterloo and Mark of Chepstow. Lovingly remembered by her grandsons, Matthew (Ola) McKay, David McKay, and precious great- granddaughters Maya and Olivia McKay.

Survived by dear sisters Marlene Voisin (Harold Kuntz) and Bernice (Roy) Henhoeffer. Fondly remembered by Sister-in-laws Eileen Weisher Joan (Don) Berberich and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband Jack, parents Albert and Leona Graf, sisters Eileen Waechter, Dolores Murray, brothers Maurice and Jerome Graf, brothers-in-laws Edgar Waechter, Harvey Murray, Frank Voisin, Bob Weisher and godchild Robert Knoll. As well Jack’s parents. all his brothers and sisters and their spouses.

Mom’s grace and Kindness touched many lives. Her legacy of love will live forever.

Our most grateful and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Patricia Froese, Dr. Kyle Scheuerman, Dr. Ellen Lorenzen, Dr, Natasha Leva, Dr. Mitchell Currie, Dr Lindsay Bowman, and Dr. David Ponesse for their outstanding care. A special thank-you to the nurses in Emerge and Unit 2 at South Grey Bruce Health Centre, Walkerton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025,  at Mary Immaculate Church, Chepstow. Fr. Ignatius Saiki officiating. Reception to follow at the Lions Park, Chepstow.

Interment in Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Chepstow.
