September 10, 1930 – July 5, 2024
Surrounded by her loving family, Maria Rozendal nee Schouten, went home to be with her Lord on July 5th, 2024 at Huronlea, Brussels, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Dirk Rozendal (1989). Predeceased by her daughter, Linda (2013), son, Richard (2016), three great-grandchildren, six brothers and 2 sisters-in-law in the Netherlands.
Loving remembered by her children: Jake Thalen, Chilliwack, Marg Rozendal, Listowel, Roy and Jane Rozendal, Britton, Frank and Wanda Rozendal, Clinton, Irene and Martin Geerlinks, Woodstock. She will be dearly missed by her: 22 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren & 3 sisters-in-law in the Netherlands and many nephews and nieces. Also remaining Rozendal family in Ontario.
Maria immigrated to Canada in 1953 with her husband where they raised a family and farmed in Mornington Township for many years and retired in Britton. She later moved to Listowel. Maria loved homemaking, entertaining, being outdoors, gardening, card-making and being an active member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Listowel, from 5 – 8 pm. where the service was held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 11 am with visitation from 10 am until time of service at 11 am with Pastor Cam Oegema officiating. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
