Margaret Anne Machesney of Listowel passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, in her 83rd year.
Margaret was a loving mother to Sheila Anne McLeod and husband John of Spruce Grove, Alberta. Loving grandmother to Robert Vaters (Jen), and Bradley Vaters (Charlene) of British Columbia.
Margaret leaves behind her brother Bill Machesney of London, Ontario, many loved nieces and nephews and very dear friends, including her best friend Pat Willis Wolsey of B.C.
Predeceased by her sister Mary (Missy) Elizabeth Stickney, her niece Kathy Jane McIntosh, and by her parents Thomas and Margaret (Logie) Machesney.
Margaret spent time in her early years working for Bell Canada then retiring from Listowel Hospital after 30 years. However, she didn’t stop there. Margaret went back to school to become an Esthetician. She had a business in Palmerston for several years before moving her business to her home, where she continued working.
She loved people and she touched so many lives.
The funeral service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Beth Kerr officiating. The service will be livestreamed and the link available on the funeral home website.
The celebration of Margaret’s life and love will continue at Parkview Gardens (Listowel Legion) on Monday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m.
Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
