Malcolm “Mac” Russell Bolton of Walkerton passed away surrounded by family on Friday, June 28, 2024, in his 90th year. Beloved father to Michael (Pauline Avery) and Paul (Heather), both of Port Elgin. Cherished grandfather of Sheena (Adam), Zachary (Christina), Jacob, Ella, Augustus, and great-grandchildren Charles and Victoria. Mac will be missed by his brother Arthur of McKillop Township, nephew Carl (Val), and niece Janet.
Predeceased by his wife Ann Bolton, daughter-in-law Abby Bolton, sister-in-law Marie Bolton, and his parents Russell and Edna Bolton.
Mac was born and raised on a farm in McKillop Township, Huron County. He attended a one room school, SS6 McKillop, and Seaforth High School. Mac was a proud graduate of OAC (University of Guelph) in 1958. Mac worked for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food until his retirement in 1992.
Mac and Ann lived briefly in Markdale, Newmarket and Perth before settling in Walkerton in 1970. On arriving in Walkerton they became avid supporters of community organizations including Rotary, Walkerton Golf and Country Club, Minor Sports and Blood Donor Clinics.
A memorial service for Mac was held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Cameron’s in Walkerton, followed by reception until 4:00 p.m.
