Lavina Cassidy

February 10, 1950 - November 7, 2021

Lavina Cassidy, of Hanover, passed away at St. Mary’s General Hospital, Kitchener on Sunday, November 7, 2021.  She was 71.

Born on February 10, 1950 in Hanover, Ontario, to Robert ‘Bob’ Fizell and Matilda ‘Tillie’ (nee Altman) McNeill.  Many will remember Lavina from her years working at Leeson’s Motors.

Survived by her loving partner Glenn Olson. Daughter of ‘Tillie’ (Harold) McNeill, and loved mother of children Lisa (Jeff) Dahms of Blackfalds, Alberta, and Lorriane (John) Merchant of Walkerton, and step-children Bryan (Susan) Olson of Holmesville, and Amy Finkbinder of Elmira.  Special grandma to 5 grandchildren and 6 great granchildren, as well as 4 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.  Fondly remembered by her siblings Donald (Bonnie) Fizell of Hanover, and Janice Lippert of Brussels, and step siblings Terry (Betty-Ann) Olson of Listowel, and Deborah Meyers of Strathroy, as well as her in-laws and many nieces, nephews, and their families.   Predeceased by her husband James Cassidy, father Bob Fizell, mother-in-law Margaret McDonald, great grandson Jace Dahms, brother Alberta Fizell, and brother and sisters-in-law.

Cremation has taken place, with inurnment in Calvary Cemetery, Walkerton.
