Petrus Marinus Johannes ‘John’ van den Braak of Listowel, and formerly of Gowanstown, passed away at Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Friday, April 29, 2022, in his 93rd year.
Husband of Johanna (deBresser) van den Braak.
Father of Frank of Listowel, David & Jackie of Gowanstown, Michael of Listowel, and Mary-Ann & Jamie Abbott of Waterloo.
Grandfather of Janine Martyn, Kayla & Steve Ferguson, Jodi van den Braak & Dillon, and Kelly van den Braak & Brad, and great-grandfather of Tyson and Riley.
Brother of Annie Pijnenburg, and Sjan VanDyck, and brother-in-law of Ans Jensen, all of Holland.
Predeceased by his parents Franciscus & Joanna (Vugs) van den Braak, and siblings Riet, Johanna, Will, and Hank.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Listowel, on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Visitation was one hour prior. Father Ross Bartley officiated. The service was live-streamed and the link is available on the funeral home website.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
Memorial donations to Community Living Listowel or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Listowel would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
