John Louis Schill of Walkerton and formerly of R. R. #3 Teeswater, passed away surrounded by family, at North Wellington Health Care, Palmerston on Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, at age 84.
Devoted husband of the late Grace B.J. Schill (née Ryan) who predeceased him on November 13th, 2018.
Loving father of Grace Schill (Mervin Huffman), Keith and Judy Schill, Jennifer Batte (Frank Jacobi), Audrey Weber (James Hallahan), Theresa and Dan Schwehr, and Ruby Harper (Jeff Moretti).
Missed by his grandchildren, Gordon, Jonathon, Kevin, Grace, Jennifer, Tara, Johnny, Keith, Pam, Chrissy, Benjamin, Alanna, Philip, Christopher, Nathan, Marcus, Rumer, Tamara, Colleen, Rebekka, Logan, Diego, Tyrone, Griffin, Arizona, Rollin, Keegan, Cierra, Kevin and Reqell and his great-grandchildren, Austin, Robbie, Nicholas, Madison, Arabell, Serenity, Axel, Remington, Cohen, Drew, Cole, Bryan, Owen, Morgan, Dennis, Bryce, Riley, Leo, Sophie, Aaliyah, Carson, Maelynn, Riley and Carter.
Fondly remembered by sisters, Dorothy Schooley and Pat Kurzawski, members of the Ryan family and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Appolena (née Doerr) Schill, daughter-in-law Donna Schill, brothers Albert Schill, Jim (Lona) Schill, sister Annie Schill and brothers-in-law Merle Schooley and John Kurzawski.
John was a dedicated member of the Formosa District Lions Club for over 24 years.
Visitation was held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Thursday, March 26th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with Formosa District Lions Club Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m., and vigil prayers at 8:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial celebrated from Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Formosa on Friday, March 27th, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
Spring Interment Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery.
Reception followed at the Formosa Community Hall.
Memorial donations to the Lions Foundation of Canada Guide Dogs or Saugeen Hospice appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
