James ‘Jim’ Douglas Beirnes of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, November 3, 2025, in his 81st year.
Beloved husband of June (Whitehead) Beirnes for 57 years. Father of Patricia & Steve Seiler of Palmerston, and the late Doug Beirnes. Cherished grandfather of Jessica & Kruz Dumontier, and Kaitlyn Seiler. Dear brother of Linda Budnark of Stratford, and Wayne & Maxine Beirnes, Paul & Val Beirnes, Bonnie Murr, and Janet Hamilton, all of Listowel, Brian Beirnes of Atwood, and Sharon Christensen of Palmerston.
Brother-in-law of Hazel & Bruce Emke, Merle Willfang, Joyce & Pete Scheeringa, Larry Whitehead & Darlene Wattham, Don & Ann Whitehead, Doreen & Richard Moore, Fred Whitehead, Marjorie & Len Weiler, and Betty Lou Roxburgh. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Margaret (Beisel) & Clifford Beirnes, parents-in-law Virginia (Brindley) & Earl Whitehead, brothers-in-law Paul Murr, David Dudnark, Wally Christensen, Ben Whitehead, Earl Whitehead, Lorne Willfang, Clarence Hahn, and Jim Roxburgh, and by his sister-in-law Shirley Hahn.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Barb Matthews and all the staff at Listowel Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care.
Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Thursday, November 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel, on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The funeral was livestreamed and the link is available on the funeral home website. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel. Reception to follow at the Listowel Legion.
