Jeanne Lenore Allin

Jeanne Lenore (Empringham) Allin, of Nithview Retirement Home, New Hamburg, and formerly of Listowel, was welcomed home by her Lord and Saviour, on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the age of 91 years.

Wife of the late Murray Allin (January 5, 2019).  Mother of Larry and Beth Allin of New Hamburg, Glenn Allin of Crosshill and Deb Francis, and mother-in-law of Sheila Allin of Kitchener.

Grandmother of Craig and Eliana Allin, Laura Beth and David Crawford, Andrew Allin and Melanie Poulin, Mark and Natalie Allin, Kaitlyn and Eric Noeske, Jacob Allin and Kayla Hochgrafe, and Jordan Allin and Kelsey Sager, and great-grandmother of Ezra, Esmeralda, Eva, Louella, Adelyn, Reid, Bo, Sydney, Seth, Piper, and Everly.

Sister-in-law of Marie Empringham of Waterloo, and remembered also by her nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her son Doug Allin, daughter-in-law Cindy Allin, brother Alan Empringham, and by her parents William and Winnifred (Sibley) Empringham.

Jeanne was many things in life.  She was a nurse and caregiver both professionally and also for her family and friends.  She loved her family, and always had treats for grandchildren (and later great-grandchildren) even if she couldn’t eat them herself.  She was hospitable and loved hosting family and friends.  Meals were usually followed by her beating everyone at whatever board or card game people chose to play.  She laughed with and lovingly scolded Murray often and we know she missed him dearly the last few years.  She will be loved and missed by all.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Tuesday, January 2 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with reception that followed in the funeral home reception hall.  Pastor Carter Whyte officiated.   Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Memorial donations to Samaritan’s Purse would be appreciated.
