James Robert Rudolph passed away June 16, 2025 in his 82nd year. Predeceased by his parents Agnes and John, brothers Andrew, Paul and William, and stepdaughter Cindy. He will be greatly missed by his wife Anne-Marie, stepsons Kevin and Michael, Michael’s wife Angela and their children, brother Dave and sisters Helen and Cathy.
A past president and Poppy chairman at the local Royal Canadian Legion, Jim was passionate about supporting veterans and others in need. He gave his time freely to speak with local veterans, listening to their stories, assisting them in any way he could and enjoying their company. Spearheading the Walk of Honour at the Walkerton cenotaph, Jim spent countless hours organizing and many sweaty days installing the walk. Jim was proud to be born in Walkerton, and as a resident he helped the community he loved. During the water crisis, he tirelessly walked door to door making sure people were kept up to date. More recently, Jim donated towards the purchase of new equipment for the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Walkerton. Jim also had many hobbies over the years, from soaring in the sky while learning to fly a plane, to working with the earth in his garden and many flower beds. Jim loved golfing and woodworking, doing both until he was no longer able. He was a good man and will be missed deeply by those who loved him. A celebration of life will be held at the Walkerton Legion Hall on his birthday, July 17th from 2 to 4 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Saugeen Hospice in Walkerton would be appreciated. Donations may be made at their office at 7 Victoria Street South in Walkerton, 519-901-7011, or via their website, saugeenhospice.ca. Arrangements entrusted to Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services, greybrucecremation.com.
