It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Irvin Henry Strickert on June 23, 2024 at the age of 76 while away on a fishing trip with his friends, doing what he loved.
Lovingly remembered and never forgotten by his wife of 54 years Shirley Strickert (Elg).
Irvin was surrounded in life by so much love and laughter from his family and friends. He was a proud and loving father to Chris Strickert, Patti (Steve) Cullen and Tim (Tisha) Strickert. Blessed grandfather to Tyler, Jaret, Evan, Clarissa, Jansen and Maianh. Fur-baby dad to Oakie Dokie who will miss his cuddles. Also Fondly remembered by Kelly & her family Michelle, Joe and their children.
Survived by his brother John Strickert of Peace River, Mary Hartman of Elora, Frieda (Les) Ducharme of Sherwood Park and Lillian Lynch (David) of Kitchener.
Irvin truly cherished his close friends, the many memories they made being there for him and Shirley. He would never say no to having a drink with a friend or playing a game of cards. He had a great sense of humour although at times you would have to read between the lines.
He enjoyed retirement the last 11 years. His passion for baking apple pies, rug hooking, wood working, “his” vegetable garden, telling stories, prepping vegetables and his 1976 Nova will always be treasured by his family and friends.
In Irvin’s memory please say “Cheers”
We love you today, tomorrow and always.
