Harvey James Willoughby, age 98, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Cedarcroft Place Retirement Residence. Born in Elma Township, son of the late Thomas Harold and Flora (McDonald) Willoughby. Harvey was predeceased by his loving wife Helen Isabelle (Eckert) Willoughby April 15, 2018 after 68 years of a love filled marriage. Loving father of Anne Wood. Wonderful grandfather of Kirk Wood (Kim), Leslie Roos (Jeff) and great grandfather of Danica (Matthew) McGill, Emma (Kyle) Martins, Katelynn (Jesse), Jacoba (Zab), Brett, Nate (Avelyn) and nieces and nephews.
Harvey drove propane truck and bulk milk truck prior to working for the Stratford PUC for over 20 years in the control center, and he was an active member of Avonton Presbyterian Church.
Besides his parents and his wife, Harvey was predeceased by his son-in-law Dennis Wood, his sister Margaret (Bally) Saunders, his sister-in-law Marjorie (John) Orr and nephews Duncan Saunders and Bill Saunders.
Friends and relatives are invited to Harvey’s funeral service at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford, ON, on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment to follow in Avondale Cemetery.
