At Barnswallow Place Care Community – Elmira on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025, Grace Adeline Thompson of Wingham passed away at the age of 81.
Devoted Mother of Joe Thompson of Burlington and Rob & Marcia Thompson of Elmira and loving Gran of Samantha and Cole. She was the cherished sister of Doris Stuart and will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and their families. She is predeceased by brothers, Arthur and Donald McLean, and sisters Janet Currie, Mary Pennington, Ruby Warner, Fannie Somers and Ella Gwynn.
Grace worked as a bookkeeper for many years and continued on in retirement as a volunteer for Royal Canadian Legion Branch 180 where she was also a fierce card player, darts shark, and routine breakfast volunteer. She was very proud of her family’s military history and contributions.
Funeral service will be held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Brussels Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham Legion or Colitis Foundation would be appreciated.
