In loving memory of a dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Gertie, who passed away on August 11, 2025, she would have turned 92 on August 12th.
Gertie was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her sons; Doug (Joan), Don (Kelli), Dale (Tamy), Granddaughters; Katelyn (Jon), Kari (Hugh) and Ali, and great grandchildren Lexee, Marlee, Tripp, and Hadley. Predeceased by her husband Clifford Wilson (1988). Devastated by her loss is her loving husband of 35 years, Tom Reid.
As a successful owner of Wilson’s Ladies Wear in Listowel, she touched many lives and hearts. Countless hours were spent supporting her sons in baseball parks and hockey arenas as their head cheerleader. Gertie and Tom spent many weekends at their trailer in Aintree, Ontario, and winters in Treasure Island, Florida, creating memories with friends and family that will never be forgotten. Some day we hope to meet and clasp her hand in a better land, never to part again.
A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Listowel. There will be a celebration of Gertie’s life at the Listowel Legion, 565 Elizabeth St E, on August 25th from 12 noon to 4:00 pm., all are welcome.
