It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother and Nana, Doris Jeanette (Love) Marran of Stratford, Ontario, on Jan 19, 2022.
Born on Jun 4, 1935 Doris lived most of her life in Elma Township (Atwood) and Stratford. Doris was an accomplished teacher and a lover of literature. She was a member of the Ontario College of Teachers since 1954. Among various schools in Ontario, Doris taught at Elma Public School, and Listowel District Secondary School from which she retired in 1996.
She obtained her Masters degree in English Literature at University of Waterloo while still teaching. She was an avid western style horse rider.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert Marran; her parents, Kenneth Love and Bernice Love (Schweitzer); and her brother Jack Love (Melba) and her sister Donna Goetz (Don). She is survived by her sons and their families, Kent Foster (Sue) of Baden and Kedric Foster (Danielle) of Wellesley and her grandchildren Hunter, Cole, Jaye and Hayden.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the care team at Spruce Lodge in Stratford for their compassion and kindness shown towards Doris during her time there.
