Doris Jean (Ross) Henderson of Listowel, passed away peacefully with her children at her side, on Monday, December 29, 2025, at a youthful 84 years.
Beloved wife of the late Allan Henderson. Mother of Shawn Henderson of Listowel, Alyssa & Leonardo Rizzo of North Bay, Kendra Henderson of Listowel, and Kristel & John Henderson of Point Clark. Grandmother of Juno Henderson, and Carmela, Catrina, Cienna, and Contessa Rizzo. Loved and remembered also by her cousins, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by her infant son Jason, brother Alexander Ross and wife Shirley, sister Eleanor Beatty and husband Cecil, and sister-in-law Ruth Zurbrigg and husband Stan.
Doris Jean was an extraordinary mother, devoted wife, and cherished grandmother whose life was defined by love, generosity, and quiet strength. She had a rare gift for making others feel seen, valued, and cared for, always placing the needs of others before her own. Helping people was not just something Doris Jean did—it was who she is. Through countless acts of kindness, both large and small, she touched the lives of family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, her guidance steady and wise, and her love unwavering.
Doris Jean’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those she nurtured, the lessons she taught by example, and the compassion she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave so selflessly.
Her family had a casual afternoon visitation at Eaton Funeral Home on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Spring interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
