Doris Frona (Scott) Bennett of Listowel passed away peacefully at Royal Terrace, Palmerston on Friday, November 3, 2023, in her 95th year.
Mother of Mary Ellen & Gary Koch of Gowanstown, and James & Lisa Bennett of West Montrose, and Nana of Amy and Matthew Koch, and Jenna and Meghan Bennett. Sister of Glenna Morrison of Toronto, and Murray & Margaret Scott of Seaforth, and sister-in-law of Elaine Scott of Listowel. Fondly remembered by Bonnie Skelding, by her friends, and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Clifford & Frona (Bender) Scott, sister Earla Calder, brother Lorne Scott, and brothers-in-law Hilton Calder and Allan Morrison.
Doris was a wonderful Mother and Nana who was always there when you needed her. She never missed a hockey game, skating carnival or dance competition, and was always ready with a needle and thread when something wasn’t quite right. Doris was a well loved member of the community who loved to volunteer her time delivering Meals on Wheels, knitting for the Cradle Club, or helping at Knox Presbyterian Church. She will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
