Bruce Taylor

Bruce Taylor, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many, departed this life suddenly on May 24th, 2024, at Hanover and District Hospital in his 74th year.

Raised in Bruce County by his loving parents, Cameron and Claudia Taylor. Through life’s journey he was a resident of Walkerton, Hanover, and Elmwood.

Multi-talented with many skills learned on the family farm, he worked in construction, accomplished operator of forklifts, snowplows, tractor trailers, cranes, heavy equipment and truck sales for Peterbuilt of London and Team Trucks of Kitchener.

Bruce had many hobbies. Having his pilots license he was an active member of the Hanover’s early Flying Club for many years.

He enjoyed winning snow mobile rallies with his father-in-law.

Bruce was a huge NASCAR and NRHA fan and enjoyed road trips with his buddies, attending several events over the years. His favorite memory was making it to the historic North Turn on the beach at Daytona.

Bruce also enjoyed building and owning several antique cars and was a founding member of the Owen Sound Car Club. Car shows led to a love of camping with family and friends over the years.

Bruce enjoyed helping others and long conversations. Committed to family, friends, and community.

The Hanover Kinsmen club, Santa Claus Parades, International Plowing Match and Teeswater Homecoming, are just a few committees that Bruce lent his help and energies to.

Highschool sweethearts since 1969, Bruce and Barbara had quietly celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2023.

Cherished father to three daughters of whom he was proud, Christine, Dawn Marie, and Rebecca.

Grandfather to our sunshine, grandchildren Jacob, Jackson, and Sophie.

Father-in-law to Paul and Tim.

In his later years, Bruce enjoyed sitting on the porch and was an occasional part time employee and supervisor at Buffalo Sunrise Farm.

He will be remembered by his siblings, Elaine Mauer, Graham Taylor, and Wilma (Glen) Birk, many nieces and nephews and cousin Shirley Johnston of Tobermory.

A private memorial graveside service will be held in Walkerton Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Hanover and District Hospital or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made online at www.cameronfuneralhomes.com
