Bruce Herbert Hallman of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 2, 2023, in his 85th year.
Husband of Thelma (Koch) Hallman. Father of Connie Woolsey of Renfrew and Mike & Tracy Hallman and Cara Sturgeon, all of Listowel. Grandfather of Rob Woolsey & Tara-Lee Hay, Amanda Woolsey, Chantelle Hallman & Sean Suitor, Tyler Hallman & Sarah Hallman-Krul, Nathan Hallman & Kaitlyn Danneman, McCalla Sturgeon, and Skylar & Josh Gingerich, and great-grandfather of 8. Remembered also by his sister Doreen Brown of Listowel.
Born and raised on the 3rd of Wallace, Bruce worked the family farm with his Dad. He met and wed Thelma in 1958, this year they would have celebrated 65 years. Bruce and Thelma moved across the road to their farm where they raised Connie, Mike and Cara. In 1990 they sold the farm and moved to town were Bruce initially worked for the Sunshine Van, moved onto school buses and many years for Cherrey Bus Lines until he finally retired on his 80th birthday. He spent his days watching his Sunday NASCAR races, reading the paper, doing word searches and sudoku puzzles. Bruce led a quiet and private life, and enjoyed his long walks and bicycle rides.
A private family service was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Monday, June 5, 2023 with Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiating.
Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
