Brenda Keats

Brenda Lee (Baillie) Keats of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 6, 2023, in her 69th year.

Wife of the late Alfred Keats.  Mother of Ashley & Wade Gibson of Gorrie, and Melissa Keats & Shea Greenley of Listowel, and grandmother of Jaide, Amelia, Kaycee, Justice, Kayden, Deagan, and Madilynn.

Sister of Marie & Rick VanderVeen, Lillian & Garry VanPoucke, and Darlene & Mike Trapnell, all of Seaforth, and Pauline & Kevin Raycraft of Howick, and sister-in-law of Connie Baillie of Listowel.

Predeceased by her parents William & Alice (Broughton) Baillie, parents-in-law Charlie & Winnie Keats, brother Lloyd Baillie, sister-in-law Bess & Lindsay Head, and brother-in-law Jack Keats.

Brenda was born in Listowel on September 25, 1954, and raised on a dairy farm near Moncrieff.  She grew to become a very strong willed, independent woman.  She met the love of her life, Alfred Keats from Newfoundland, and they were married in 1978.   They raised two wonderful daughters, who blessed her with seven grandchildren that she loved beyond measure.  In addition to spending time with her grandchildren and family, Brenda also enjoyed participating in 4-H programs, camping, flowers, horses, and ceramics.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral service was held at Listowel Salvation Army Citadel on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.  The service was live streamed, and the link is available on the funeral home website.  Spring interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
