Beverley Ann MacDonald

Beverley Ann MacDonald (née Blackwell) of Teeswater, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of family, on Friday, January 2nd, 2026, in her 90th year.

Cherished wife and best friend of Hugh MacDonald for 71 years.

Bev was the family matriarch and felt family was the most important trait a person could have.  She loved babies and playing with small children.  She was a master quilter giving quilt gifts for weddings and to those family members attending college or universities and  for new babies. She helped her husband by doing the books for MacDonald’s Garage, Teeswater for 50 years.  She loved to play all card games and was the family card shark.

Loving mother of Nancy MacDonald-Exel of Mississauga, Janet (Bill) Ireland of Formosa, Kendra (Tom) Reinhart of Mildmay, David (Wendy) MacDonald of Teeswater, Debbie (Abe) Versteeg of Howick, Vicki (Dennis) Seward of Mildmay, Cheryl (David) Norman of Collingwood and Tami MacDonald of Wingham.

Proud grandma of 30 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Joyce MacDonald and numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her daughter, Connie Johnston, granddaughters Amy Bross and Heather Morton, siblings Harry Blackwell (Jean), Eileen Dunlop (Cam), Jack Blackwell (Millie), Betty Voisin (Mac) and Ben Blackwell (in infancy), parents Earl and Mary (née Nesbitt) Blackwell, and in-laws, Marjorie Humphries (Bill) , Shirley Carter (George), John MacDonald and Donna Heatherington (Maurice).

Visitation was held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Teeswater on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 from 11:00 to 12:30, followed by the memorial service honouring Bev’s life at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Carolyn McAvoy officiating.

Spring inurnment Culross-Teeswater Cemetery.

Memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church or the Teeswater Medical Centre  appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
