Beryl Reidl

After a long well-lived life, Beryl Maxine Reidl, passed away peacefully at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton, on September 25, 2023, in her 90th year.

Beryl was born in 1933 in Maryborough to parents Max and Maye Noble. Her two older brothers, Bob and Don, loved to joke and often told everyone she was the oldest of them all eåven though she was the youngest. After marrying Charlie Reidl in 1961 they spent 59 wonderful years together. They moved to Walkerton in 1965, shortly thereafter Beryl started her career at ARC Industries/Community Living, where she was employed for 22 years.  It was there she met some of her lifelong friends.  She looked forward to the many social events, vacations and Saturday morning coffee group with these friends.

Beryl made the best salsa which still today is carried on being made by her Granddaughter, Katelyn.  You could almost always find a deck of cards in her hands travelling to various towns weekly for a good Bridge game.   Together, Charlie and Beryl enjoyed numerous beautiful sunsets at their cottage on Lake Huron.

To Beryl, family was the most important thing in her life.  She was the loving mother of Kathy Edge (Paul) of Ingersoll, Mark Reidl (Kathryn Del Greco) of Collingwood and Michelle Wilhelm (Steve) of Walkerton.

When her grandkids were born, everything revolved around them.  Grandma to Kiel Edge (Andrea), Sarah Kim (Lance), Amanda Whytock (Brad) and Katelyn Shiell (JD).

A title that brought a smile to her face every time their names were mentioned, she was “Super G” to Sebastian, Rory, Tegan, Keaton, Birkson, Tatum and Cayson.

She will be missed by her sister-in-law Vivian Noble and the Reidl family Annie Brito, Elizabeth Reidl, Helen Vamos, Shirley Koch (Herb), John Reidl (Judy), Wally Reidl (Sharon), Frank Reidl (Shirley), in addition to many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Charlie (2020), her parents Max and Mamie Noble, and two stepmothers Mamie and Gertrude.  She was also predeceased by brothers Robert Noble and Donald Noble (Joan), nephews Glenn Noble and Paul Noble, brothers-in-law Alfred Reidl, Joe Vamos, Tom Brito and sister-in-law Phyllis Reidl.

Beryl’s family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Al Qaseer and the staff of both South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Walkerton and Maple Court for all their care.

Celebration of Life was held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Knights of Columbus Hall, Walkerton.

Private family interment was held in Walkerton Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation or Saugeen Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made online at www.cameronfuneralhomes.com
