Barbara Carbert passed away peacefully with loving family by her side at Summit Place in Owen Sound, on June 13, 2024. Born in London, Ontario, on July 28, 1927, Barbara Jean Carbert of Owen Sound (formerly of Wingham and Vancouver), was in her 97th year.
Dear sister-in-law of Mary Carbert of Wingham. Loved Aunt of Helen Wilson of Owen Sound, Ron Carbert of Canmore, AB, Bruce Carbert of Vancouver, BC., and Great-Aunt of Jodie Wilson, Lesley Ludwar, Claire Carbert, Jay Wilson, Rowan Carbert and Phillip Carbert.
Predeceased by her parents Laura and Fred Carbert, and by her brother Robert “Bob” Carbert.
Along with spending time with family, Barbara loved to lawn bowl and was a long-time member of the Wingham Lawn Bowling Club. She worked as a nurses assistant at the Wingham Hospital and will be fondly remembered for her many years of providing care to others.
In keeping with Barbara’s selfless nature, she has bequeathed her body to the University of Western Ontario for medial research purposes. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
