Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Henry Donkers (2016). Loving mother of Jim (Marilyn), Mary (Willard) Ropp, Theresa (the late Dave) Burns, Mike (Svetlana), the late Francine Flynn, Ann (John) Tracey, Stephanie Donkers, Christine (Rob) Annis, and John (Sarah). Cherished grandmother of 29 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Survived by siblings Bill, Gerry, Diny, Harold, and Theo. Predeceased by parents Willem and Bernadina Klunder, siblings Riky, John, and Joe, and great-grandchild Sydney Flynn. Annie was a hard working mother of nine children. She loved to garden, sew, knit, and laugh. Most of all, family was her greatest joy that she loved unconditionally; visiting and spending time with them as often as she could.
The family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful staff at Caressant Care, Listowel for their care and compassion towards mom during her stay.
Visitation took place on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira. A funeral mass was held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 12 p.m. at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Listowel with a reception that followed in the parish hall. Interment took place at 3 p.m. in Elmira Union Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Waterloo Region Health Network (WRHN) Foundation or Listowel Memorial Hospital would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
