On his 83rd birthday, Wayne Petrie passed away at the Boundary Trails Heath Centre in Morden, Manitoba, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by Marilyn (Wenzel) Petrie, his wife of 58 years, their children Chris Turnbull (Dean), Kim Deamel (Gord), and Greg Petrie (Carol), and by 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Remembered also by his sister Bev Porterfield (Jack) of Listowel, mother-in-law Margaret Wenzel of Minto, sister-in-law Sandy Gilmore (Ray) of Harriston, brother-in-law Leroy Wenzel of Minto, and by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents Beth (Hincks) and Joe Petrie, brother Larry Petrie, sister Cheryl Dallner and her husband Brian, father-in-law Olan Wenzel, and by his infant grandson Alexander Deamel.
“Family first” was Grandpa’s motto. We always knew he would drop whatever he was doing when we needed help or drive us where we needed to be.
A private family service will be held, with arrangements entrusted to Wiebe Funeral Home, Morden, Manitoba.
