Alfred “Al” Schumacher of Walkerton passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton, in his 83rd year. Beloved father of Barbara Ann (Steven) Tuinema of New Liskeard, and Joanne Schumacher (Chris Tomat) of Barrie. Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Brandon (Haylee), Anna, and great-grandfather of Emersyn, Lincoln, and Wallace. Al will be missed by his brother Doug (Cindy) of Brights Grove, and brother-in-law Bill Bell of Walkerton.
Predeceased by his wife Catherine, brother Don (Kathy), sisters Carol Bell and Ann Schlatman, and his parents Edward and Florence (nee Bruder) Schumacher.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton. Fr. Leszek Szczygiel presided. Reception followed in the Sacred Heart Parish Hall.
Private family interment was in Hanover Cemetery.
