North Perth resident charged with luring youth

NORTH PERTH – Perth County OPP have laid charges in relation to a sexual offence investigation that occurred in the Municipality of North Perth.

Just before 1 p.m. on May 21, police responded to a report of “inappropriate communication between a youth and an adult employee of a local school board.” Police say the incident occurred in May.

Following an investigation by the Perth County Crime Unit, police have charged a 48-year-old North Perth resident has been charged with:

– luring a person under 14 years of age by means of telecommunication; and

– invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
