North Perth resident charged with assault

NORTH PERTH – The Perth County OPP has charged a North Perth resident after an assault during a domestic occurrence.

Police say they began an investigation at a North Perth residence on Feb. 13. According to police, the incident occurred a few days before, and the victim was not injured during the assault.

Charged is a 26-year-old resident of North Perth. They have been charged with assault causing bodily harm – choke, suffocate, or strangle; and fail to comply with probation order.

Police typically do not release the name of the accused in a domestic assault case in order to protect the identity of the victim.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Stratford court at a later date.
