North Perth marks second Coldest Night of the Year event

Approximately $70K raised through local homelessness awareness initiative

The second annual Coldest Night of the Year North Perth was able to proceed in an in-person format for the first time on Saturday, Feb. 26, following the inaugural virtual event in 2021. A United Way Perth-Huron initiative, the event was designed to raise funds and awareness for various community supports that assist local residents experiencing homelessness, hunger and hurt. To date, approximately $70,000 has been raised locally this time around, with participants taking on a two or five-kilometre walk from the start/end point of Listowel Chrysler. (Dan McNee photo)
