WHITECHURCH – A North Perth man has been charged with stunt driving following a traffic stop that took place in Whitechurch on Dec. 15.
At approximately 2:37 p.m. a Huron County OPP officer was conducting RADAR patrols on Bruce Road 86 when a westbound pickup truck was observed speeding into Whitechurch. The officer utilized a RADAR device and was able to measure the speed of the pickup truck at a rate in excess of 100 km/h in the posted 60 km/h zone.
A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, 33-year-old Travis Fotheringham from North Perth, was charged with drive motor vehicle perform a stunt – speed by 40 km/h or more.
Fotheringham will attend Provincial Offences Act Court in Goderich on Jan. 25 to answer to the charge.
