LISTOWEL – The North Perth Fire Department (NPFD) and Perth County OPP responded to the report of flame and smoke in the proximity of Erie Meats and a section of the North Perth Trail near Riverview Drive on Monday, July 11 around 8 a.m.
The NPFD quickly extinguished the fire, which Chief Janny Pape confirmed was “a fire involving a small encampment.”
There was no damage to the surrounding trees and the NPFD remained on scene for approximately one hour before returning later in the day for further clean-up measures.
