BIOGRAPHY
My name is Amy Schiestel and I am running for Wingham Ward councillor. I have had family ties to Wingham and chose to raise my own family here as well with my husband Scott and our two children.
Our future generations are extremely important to me as they are the keyholders in shaping the future for their children and grandchildren. I strongly believe in freedom of choice and will continue to defend our rights and freedoms for everyone, especially our children. Although my political experience is limited, we all start somewhere. I will strive to approach every issue we face with my firm belief of democracy.
BIGGEST ISSUE
My three main concerns are:
– Our taxes are extremely high and I believe we can work harder to lower our taxes and cap them without impacting important infrastructure.
– Wasteful/unneccesary spending of our tax dollars.
– Initiate fundraising for a skate park for our youth.
