WINGHAM – Mudmen, “Canada’s Celtic Rock Warriors,” have weathered yet another storm surviving the long COVID-19 shutdown. Back and better than ever, Mudmen have a whole new line-up, except for founding members Sandy and Robby Campbell. Mudmen return to Wingham at the Town Hall Theatre on Saturday, April 30 for an all-ages, family friendly concert.
Mudmen are no strangers to the area, selling out the Blyth Festival Theatre numerous times, playing the plowing match, the Kincardine Scottish Festival, and performing with Johnny Reid, The Irish Rovers, The Chieftains, John McDermott and many more in the area.
Mudmen recently released the Best of Mudmen CD, which is selling very well with a new Mudmen album scheduled for an early summer release. Mudmen also have released a new trivia book and t-shirts, and will be playing new songs from their next CD at live shows.
Some of the career highlights for Mudmen include meeting and performing for the Queen of England; performing at the 1984 Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup winning team reunion with Wayne Gretzky, Sarah McLachlan and Red Ryder; performing at the CBC Oilers home opening ceremony; eight Grey Cup fan-fests; performing on the MacKenzie Bros TWO-Four CBC special; opening for ZZ Top, The Guess Who, Gord Bamford, and Dean Brody; and recorded pipes on the CBC Hockey Night in Canada anthem produced by rock icon Bob Rock.
Mudmen have had music featured from their 10 studio CD’s on several TV shows, including WWE, NBC’s The Black Donnelly’s and HBO’S Shameless.
With 24 years together, Mudmen have performed at festivals, clubs and concert theaters in seven different countries building a legion of fans from young to old.
