Morris-Turnberry council candidate: Dale McFarlan

BIOGRAPHY

My name is Dale McFarlan. I was born, raised and still live in Morris-Turnberry. My name may ring a bell as my mom and dad (Muriel and Elmer) are well known here. I have worked at Royal Homes and use to work in the building department at Morris-Turnberry. Although I have not had much political or community involvement, I am looking forward to working hard for you. My many years of negotiating and arguing for people’s rights during my 15 years as a union executive will serve you well.

ISSUES

One of the issues that I hope to address is our increasing taxes. I would like to see more housing in our communities, which will lead to lower taxes. In turn, I hope this will attract more businesses, opportunities for residences and financial investments in our local hospitals, schools and services.

I would also like to see changes in the way landowners can use their land, give them more flexibility with how they utilize it allowing multiple houses on a property.  This could potentially create added relief on our hospitals and seniors’ homes, as well as lower taxes per residence.

I look forward to serving as your councillor. Let’s make some positive changes.
