NORTH PERTH – A Mildmay resident is facing several drug-related charges following a two-vehicle collision in North Perth last month.
Perth County OPP responded to a crash involving an SUV and a tractor-trailer at 10:24 a.m. on June 22.
The investigation indicated that the SUV crossed the centre line and collided with the front end of the tractor-trailer.
Police say the driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
“An officer attended the hospital and was informed that the male left immediately after arrival,” states a July 25 media release.
Police arrested a 36-year-old Mildmay man and charged him with:
– possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine;
– possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin);
– possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling;
– careless driving; and
– possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
