On Aug. 4 Canadian Community Newspapers Association board member, David Adsett (left), and London Publishing’s Doug Rowe (right) presented the Silver Quill Award to Midwestern Newspapers General Manager, Bill Huether (middle) for his 25 years of service to the media industry. The Silver Quill is presented to a nominated individual in the role of owner, executive officer, editor, or publisher at a weekly newspaper. Huether has worked in various roles at multiple newspapers across Midwestern and Southwestern Ontario, but most prominently in the role general manager of the Listowel Banner, Independent Plus and Wingham Advance Times since 2005, as well as the Walkerton Herald-Times since 2017.
