Madill varsity girls win Huron-Perth rugby title

The F.E. Madill Mustangs are the 2023 Huron-Perth varsity girls’ rugby champions, after routing Stratford DSS 38-5 during the regional high school finale hosted by Wingham on May 19. Madill will now host St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School on May 25 in the WOSSAA championships. WINGHAM – There was a moment right at halftime when the F.E. Madill Mustangs’ march to the Huron-Perth varsity girls’ rugby championship may have appeared in jeopardy. But it was a fleeting moment, and in the end the regional final wound up the same as every other Madill game over the course of the 2023…
