Madill blanks Oakridge to capture WOSSAA ‘A-AA’ championship

Madill Secondary School varsity girls’ hockey team won the WOSSAA ‘A-AA’ championship on March 6 at the North Huron Wescast Community Complex, blanking London’s Oakridge Secondary School 2-0 in the four-team tournament finale. WINGHAM – The F.E. Madill Mustangs were the top team in the Huron-Perth varsity girls’ hockey loop in 2023-24, and now the squad has also laid claim to best ‘A-AA’ high school outfit in the region, after winning the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA) championship last week.
