Director of Public Works Dax McCallister presented a report to council on Jan. 13, asking for pre-budget approval for the rental of temporary Mobile Disc Filters at the Blyth Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), which will come with a hefty price tag for North Huron.

Another Ontario winter is in full swing and with that comes a wide range of winter sports that take people outside. A popular activity is snowmobiling – and Ontario is home to one of the largest interconnected snowmobiling trail systems anywhere.

Council here decided to give their support to a Teeswater property owner seeking to proceed with an industrial development. 

According to a court bulletin from the province, Hydro One pled guilty in the Provincial Offences Court in Goderich and was fined $250,000 by Justice of the Peace Kristine Diaz. 

Local schools have garnered a good reputation in the trades industry, however, the latest stat associated with Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) participation and completion will only further benefit it. 

Desperation makes people do crazy things – like driving for miles in a snowstorm, and standing in a lineup, outside, in the snow, that snakes around the block – to see if you can sign up for a family doctor.

Council here heard an update on the municipality’s health and safety activities at their Dec. 10 meeting.

At their Jan. 14 meeting, council here heard a year end report from the municipality’s building department, offering a glimpse of 2024 in growth from a construction perspective.
