The little community of Belmore, “The Hamlet with Heart”, is making good progress with plans for Homecoming 2025.  The list of activities is growing and so is enthusiasm! 

Huron County Council approved a request from Manager of Ontario Works and Children’s Services Cheryl Patience to enter into a five-year lease with the Exeter Lion’s Club.

New information, specifically a more cost-effective solution for the Blyth sewage treatment plant, prompted council to revisit their Jan. 13 decision to rent temporary sand filters at the astonishing price of $400,000.

Council here supported a resolution from the Township of Puslinch, located south of Guelph, which expressed a “strong objection” to a new burden placed on municipal taxpayers to subsidize the aggregate industry, the letter states. 

After a tense weekend and back and forth negotiations Monday, Canadians breathed a sigh of relief when a termporary pause in planned US tariffs on Canadian goods was announced late afternoon on Feb. 3.

Council here adopted the Annual and Multi-Year Accessibility Plans from the County of Huron – a commitment to further the  inclusivity of Morris-Turnberry’s community members.
