LISTOWEL – A suspect has been charged after thefts from a local business in the Municipality of North Perth.
The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to the business on Mitchell Road South, Listowel, on Feb. 6 just after 3 p.m., after a person was witnessed shoplifting. During the investigation, it was learned that this person had shoplifted from this same business on two previous occasions.
Jeffrey Couto, 36, of North Perth, has been charged with theft under $5,000 – shoplifting (three counts).
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.
