Listowel’s Habitat for Humanity ReStore seeking more volunteers

LISTOWEL – The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is seeking volunteers. Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario owns and operates nine ReStore locations, including the one on Rocher Road in Listowel.

Volunteers make it possible for Habitat for Humanity to provide opportunities for families to achieve affordable and sustainable homeownership. Staff are ultimately responsible for making sure that everything that needs to get done gets done; but many hands make for light work and create a more productive atmosphere.

Habitat for Humanity, like many charities, has seen a reduction in volunteers during the pandemic. The organization is incredibly thankful for the continued support and dedication of those who have been able to continue with their volunteer work during this time.

The commitment is eight hours a month – that’s approximately two four-hour shifts a month (although volunteers are welcome to volunteer more often than that). They offer flexible shifts, a variety of volunteer tasks, and the opportunity for people of all different backgrounds and abilities to help build community. Habitat for Humanity accept students 16 years of age or older (perhaps looking to fulfill their mandatory community service hours), and retirees looking to stay active – and everyone in between.
