TORONTO – Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Panos Assimakopoulos of Listowel. He matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the Jan. 14, 2023 PICK 4 draw to win $100,000.
Assimakopoulos, 43, also won $2 on another one of his ENCORE selections, bringing his total winnings to $100,002.
Assimakopoulos says he’s been playing the lottery occasionally since he was of age to play.
“I walked into the store to replay my PICK 4 ticket and I was surprised to see ‘Big Winner’ appear on the screen. I was so overwhelmed – my heart was racing,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I told my mom and dad about the win, and they were surprised. They’re so excited for me.
“This win feels great. I will invest in the future, share some with my close family members and maybe travel somewhere hot during the winter.”
The winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on King Street in Waterloo.
